Mould is the basic technological equipment of industrial production, and die industry is an important part of machinery industry and high-tech industry. As the basic technological equipment of industrial production, the die with its high precision, high complexity, high consistency, high production efficiency and low energy consumption is incomparable in general mechanical processing, and has attracted more and more attention from various industrial departments of the country. Mould is compared to the motive force of the golden key and the emperor of metal processing to enter the affluent society abroad. The output value of mould industry in developed countries such as Japan and the United States has already exceeded that of machine tool industry. Since 1997, the output value of China's mould industry has also exceeded that of machine tool industry. Luo Baihui said that die technology has become one of the important symbols to measure the level of a country's product manufacturing, and is a very important equipment industry. Mould industry directly serves the industrialization of high and new technology. Mould industry itself adopts a large number of high and new technology, such as CAD/CAE/CAM, new technology, new materials, advanced manufacturing technology and equipment, etc. Mould industry has become a part of high and new technology industry. The industrialization of high-tech can not be separated from the mold, and the improvement of the technological level of mold production can not be separated from the industrialization of high-tech.
According to the knowledge of Huaxia Mould Network, Hebei Province has a complete range of mould production types. Ten kinds of mould are distributed in different regions. Mold manufacturers in different regions produce different kinds of mould according to the local industrial structure, product types and market demand. Among them, 50% are stamping dies, 40% are plastic dies, 5% are precision casting dies, 5% are die-casting dies, 5% are forging dies, ceramic dies and so on. There are more than 3,000 units engaged in die processing in the province, more than 95% are private enterprises, 4% are joint-stock enterprises, and only a few are state-owned professional die factories. There are more than 60,000 employees, 10% are engineers and managers. According to incomplete statistics, Hebei's total die production in 2006 was about 2 billion yuan. Among them, the total output value of commercial moulds exceeds 1.8 billion yuan, accounting for 3% of the total output value of moulds in the whole country; it is one-tenth of that in Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces. Although the output value of Hebei Province in 2006 increased by 12.5% compared with 2005, it is still far from that in developed provinces.
